  1. Chop the onion and sauté it in a casserole with two tablespoons of oil until transparent.
  2. Add a chopped garlic, cook for 1 minute more and add the ham mince and the sliced chorizo.
  3. Saute everything together for 2 minutes and add the drained lentils and the bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper, cover with water and cook for 50 minutes.
  4. Toast the slices of bread. Sauté the remaining chopped garlic in a frying pan with a tablespoon of oil. As soon as it starts to brown, remove from the heat and chop the fried garlic in a mortar and pestle with the toasted bread. Add it to the lentils, cook for a further 5 minutes and serve.
